YT-730934 Universal clamp meter with automatic range for each measurement allows for performing basic and advanced measurements of electrical quantities. The meter is equipped with measuring clamps that allow for measuring the intensity of direct current and alternating current in a single wire using the built-in HALL sensor. The measurement is performed without the need to disconnect the circuit or disconnect it from the power source and allows for measuring a much higher current intensity than in the case of conventional electrical meters. The measuring probe leads have silicone, flexible and resistant to high temperatures insulation. Note: Meters capable of measuring DC current intensity, including the YT-730934, use a Hall sensor that measures the value of the magnetic field intensity. The magnetic field on Earth occurs naturally, as a result of which the readings of the DC current meter are non-zero. Each time, before measuring the DC current intensity, bring the meter close to the tested wire, zero it with the REL button, then attach it to the tested wire and read the result. Basic measurements: AC voltage: 0-600 V, TRUE RMS (40-1000 Hz)
DC voltage: 0-600 V
AC current intensity: A.C. 0-600 A, TRUE RMS (40-1000 Hz)
DC Current: D.C. 0-600 A
Resistance: 0-60 MΩ
Diode Test: IF 1.5 mA, UR 3 V
Continuity Test: 0-50 Ω
Additional Measurements: AC and DC Voltages in Low Impedance Mode: 0-600 V
Capacitor Capacitance: 0-60 mF
Frequency: 0-300 kHz
Temperature: -30 to 1000°C
Non-Contact AC Voltage Detection: NCV
Accuracies: Example of determining accuracy for AC current measurement. Calculations for measurement result: 30 A measurement accuracy of the YT-730934 meter for this range is: ±(2.0%+30), resolution 0.01 A
measurement error calculation formula: (measurement result x 2%) + 30 x resolution
calculations: (30 x 2%) + 30 x 0.01 = 0.6 + 0.3 = 0.90 A
Actual result taking into account the measurement error for the 30 A indication = 30 ± 0.90 A result taking into account the measurement error for the AC voltage measurement indication: 235 V = 235 ± 2.65 V
result taking into account the measurement error for the DC voltage measurement indication: 12 V = 12 ± 0.09 V
The table with the resolution and accuracy for a given measurement can be found in the user manual. Built-in functions: TRUE RMS - the meter displays the true effective value of the AC voltage/current. Unlike averaging meters, devices with TRUE RMS display the correct value not only for a sinusoidal waveform, but also for distorted sinusoidal waveforms, e.g. with higher harmonics or square or triangular waveforms. A mandatory function wherever there are switching power supplies, motor inverter drives, HVAC installations, etc. in the circuit.
VlowZ - measurement of AC and DC voltage in low impedance mode. The phenomenon commonly called ghost voltage can make it difficult to diagnose the power supply network, e.g. in industrial buildings. It consists in the appearance of voltage on an unconnected wire in which voltage has been induced from a wire connected to the network through the same channel. The LowZ function lowers the impedance of the meter's measuring sockets 10 times compared to the standard measurement mode, then the meter samples the voltage and draws a slightly higher current and thus discharges the charge accumulated in the wire. As a result, we get a voltage measurement without the so-called ghost voltage
NCV - non-contact detection of alternating voltage using the inductive method. The meter detects the presence of voltage in an insulated wire and can also indicate the phase wire
AUTO - automatic adjustment of the measurement range (one measurement is enough), activated by default. When measuring unknown values using a meter with manual range change using the knob, measurements should be taken successively from the largest range to the range giving the most accurate result - otherwise we risk damaging the device. DATA HOLD - saving the currently measured value on the display
PEAK HOLD - saving the highest measured value on the display using measurement probes
INRUSH current - measurement of the inrush current using measuring clamps. The meter will measure the current intensity within 100 ms of starting the device
REL - relative value function. Allows to zero the meter readings. Necessary in the DC current measurement mode. The Hall sensor measures the value of the ambient electromagnetic field and shows the result on the display. Before measuring the DC current intensity, bring the meter close to the tested wire, zero it, then place the clamps on the tested wire. Thanks to this, we will obtain a result that is not disturbed by the values of the ambient electromagnetic field indications
Additional information: LCD display, maximum displayed result: 6000
backlighting of the screen and the clamp measuring field
sound signal in the circuit continuity test for resistance below 50 Ω
possibility of switching on diode and circuit continuity tests separately
the clamps open to 25 mm and allow for the measurement of a single wire with a maximum diameter of 25 mm
measuring probes 14.5 cm long
length of the cable with probes: 97 cm
diameter of the cable with insulation: 3.5 mm
the set includes a cover
design with overload protection
automatic shutdown of the meter after 15 minutes of inactivity (this function can be switched off)
low battery indicator
power supply: 2 x 1.5 V (AAA) batteries
Attention! Current measurement using clamp meters is performed only and exclusively on a single strand, a single wire. Attaching clamps to a multi-strand cable without isolating a single strand will show an incorrect result or zero current flow.
